Digital Voice FAQs
Moving to a digital service is simpler than it sounds. Because your calls now travel over your fibre connection, your phone simply plugs into your router instead of the wall.

How do I connect my existing phone?
Most standard UK telephones are fully compatible with our service.
Built-in ATA
The TP-Link EX520v router we supply features an integrated Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA). This translates digital fibre signals into a dial tone your traditional phone understands.
The Direct Connection
On the back of the router, you will find a dedicated Phone Port (RJ11). Simply plug your phone’s cable into this port to get started. If your phone uses a standard UK plug, we provide a simple adapter to make it fit.

What if my phone isn't near the router?
You don’t have to move your furniture or rewire your home.
Cordless (DECT) Systems
If you use a cordless system with multiple handsets, you only need to plug the main base station into the router. All other handsets will continue to work wirelessly throughout the house.
No Extra Boxes
Because the ATA is built into our hardware, you don’t need any bulky external "digital voice" boxes.

Will my phone work during a power cut?
Digital Voice requires power to the router and the fibre equipment to function.
Emergency Preparedness
We recommend keeping a charged mobile phone available for emergencies.
Battery Back-up
For customers with additional needs or no mobile signal, Battery Back-up Units (UPS) are recommended to keep your service running during an outage.
